Pathway Into Carer Roles: Aged Care & Disability

Are You Interested in a Rewarding Career in the Caring Sector?

This two day program is designed to give participants an insight into what working in the Care Sector looks like, what skills and qualifications are needed. Participants will observe workers in industry settings, tour facilities, hear direct from industry professionals about “a day at work” and also hear from registered training organisations about how to obtain a qualification. There will also be extensive opportunities to ask questions and develop your own career pathway.

Introduction to Starting a Small Business

Ever wondered about being your own boss, but not sure where to start?

Whether you have an idea or not, join us for an introductory look at small business. Through engaging and interactive sessions, this workshop explores the steps you need to consider as well as tools and tips to support your entrepreneurial journey. From exploring ideas and turning an interest into a business, to financial considerations and getting started, this series is a must for aspiring business owners.

Introduction to Bookkeeping

Every business, no matter how small, needs to keep accurate records if it is to succeed and thrive.

It is so important to keep timely records of how much you are selling, what it costs to buy the goods, what other expenses you incur and how much money is in the bank so you can meet your obligations in a timely manner.

This introductory program will:

  • Introduce useful business and bookkeeping concepts and terminology
  • Help clarify the record keeping needs of your business
  • Explain how to structure your business record keeping on a day-to-day basis
  • Identify the importance of bank statements, accurate GST records
  • Explore some basic options regarding paper based vs electronic record keeping
  • Be useful for job seekers to add to their resume
     

Digital skills for Job Seeking and Self Employment

The course is designed to assist people in improving their skills and confidence in being able to understand and use digital applications (programs and social media platforms) to further enhance their job seeking efforts.
