About the Role
Our Girls Primary School is currently looking for an exceptional Upper Primary General Studies Teacher on a full time basis with a 0.66FTE.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Planning and implementation of a curriculum of teaching programs or courses of study using a range of teaching techniques and materials
- Planning, implementing and marking a variety of assessment tasks to monitor students’ progress
- Implementation of strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes
- Maintenance of records of class attendance and recording of student progress
- Liaison with students and parents
- Implementation of effective student management strategies consistent with the school’s behaviour management plan
- Attendance at regular staff and curriculum planning meetings
- Provide supervision of students during recess, as timetabled
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for ongoing wellbeing and develop positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider school community
Working Hours
Full Time - Fixed 1-year contract from 13 July 2026 to 30 June 2027 for maternity cover.
25.18 hours - Monday to Friday
Qualifications/Skills Required
Tertiary qualifications in Education (Bachelor degree or higher)· Current VIT registration
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in lower primary general studies curriculum content, current curriculum approaches and teaching practices
- Passionate about teaching and working with children
- Resilience, empathy and patience in their approach to teaching
- Excellent communication skills, classroom management and flexible on tailoring to varying student needs
- A sound understanding of the Child Safe Standards and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children
