About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic team member to join the Admin team at our Girls Secondary School in the role of Receptionist. This is a full‑time, term‑time‑only position with excellent pro‑rata remuneration—an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to build a rewarding professional career while enjoying the benefit of school holiday breaks.
The Receptionist is responsible for creating a warm, inviting, welcoming first image of the School whilst ensuring the smooth administration and functioning of the Secondary School Front Office. The primary function of the Receptionist is to ensure the day-to-day needs of students, staff and parents are met.
In this role, you will:
- Be the point of call for day-to- day enquiries from students, teachers and parents re general information, activities, school functions, events, etc.
- Manage the day to day needs of students, staff and parents
- Monitor accountability of visitors to the Campus (Sign in/out procedures)
- Have a full understanding of the maintenance and reporting capabilities of SEQTA including: (SEQTA training available)
- Maintain / monitor all student absenteeism and attendance data (sign in and out)
- Assist in day-to-day correspondence from Secondary School to the school community via emails and school app
- Communicate parent and student related events to stakeholders, such as Information Evenings, Orientation Days and other school calendar events including the dispersion of any required information.
- Support student medical concerns with respect to storing and dispensing of medications as approved by parents of students in accordance with School procedures
About you:
- Several years of experience in a front office role
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship management skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong organisational abilities and time management skills, able to work in a harmonious and efficient manner
- Ability to succeed in a busy and fast paced environment
- A sound understanding of the Child Safe Standards and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children
