About the Role

Pathways Melbourne is seeking a part-time Caseworker to support intake, assessment, and referrals for young people in the Jewish community.


The role works primarily with young people who are questioning religiosity, as well as young people who are homeless or not safe at home. It includes intake and referral for safe housing pathways in partnership with Lighthouse Foundation (Orly House and Orly kinship care programs).

The role is also the first point of contact for people of all ages questioning religiosity, completing initial intake before handover to adult programs. This is a non-clinical role focused on intake, safeguarding, advocacy, and warm referrals. No after-hours work.

Hours: Initially 4 hours per week, increasing to up to 8 hours per week by the end of the year.

Pathways is a child-safe organisation. Appointment includes a rigorous recruitment process and in-depth child safety interview.

Qualifications/Skills Required

Requirements: Social work (or related) qualification, 3 - 5 years’ experience with children and young people, strong knowledge of youth services, strong understanding of the Jewish community.
