Creating employment opportunities for people with disability in your business
A free, practical service supporting SMEs to explore and implement employment opportunities with the right support.
Welcome, Business Owners!

At Jewish Care, we understand that people with disability make great employees—and small businesses can lead the way in building inclusive workplaces. That’s why we’ve created the Disability Employment Navigator service: to support businesses in finding and keeping the right people.
The Disability Employment Navigator will work with your business to navigate the pathways to successful employment of people with disability. Our free and unique service provides tailored support, education and training to help you find and retain the right candidates.
We’ve also developed a simple, easy-to-read booklet that outlines the benefits of inclusive hiring, along with three short videos featuring success stories from small businesses.
To access the booklet and videos simply click on the links below.

Frequently Asked Questions
Thinking about inclusive employment but not sure where to start?
These are some of the questions we hear most often from small business owners.
Is the Navigator service free?
Yes. The Disability Employment Navigator is a free service funded to support small and medium businesses to explore inclusive employment in a practical and supported way.
Do I need to have a job ready before I get in touch?
No. Many businesses start with a conversation. We can help you identify tasks or roles that could work within your existing team and workflow.
What kind of businesses do you work with?
We work primarily with small and medium-sized businesses across a range of industries. If you have a workplace and are open to exploring inclusive employment, we can support you.
Do I have to commit to hiring someone?
No. The Navigator is about exploration and readiness. There is no obligation to hire — the goal is to understand what could work for your business.
What if I only have a few hours of work available?
That’s very common. Many opportunities begin with a small number of hours per week. We help navigate what’s realistic for both the business and the candidate, including how supports may apply.
How does the Navigator support the process?
We work alongside you to:
- understand your business needs
- identify suitable roles or tasks
- connect you with employment and support providers
- help navigate onboarding, supports and expectations
What supports are available to employers?
Depending on the situation, there may be supports available through employment services or the NDIS. We help you understand what applies — without overcomplicating the process.
What happens after someone starts?
Support doesn’t stop at placement. We help ensure there are clear supports in place so both the employer and employee can succeed over time.
Iām interested, but not sure where to start. What should I do?
Start with a conversation. We can talk through your business, your questions, and what might be possible — no pressure, no commitment.
