About the role
Beis Efraim College [t/a Divrei Emineh School] seeks expressions of interest for a Religious and Yiddish Program Assistant.

Interested applicants must

  • Be tri-lingual and fluent in Yiddish (Hungarian dialect) and classic (Biblical) Hebrew, with a good command of English and to use these translation skills for the development of Yiddish religious programs.
  • Be knowledgeable with all practices and obligations of a Chassidic Jewish lifestyle.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of Chassidic values, ethics and philosophy.
  • Respect a Chassidic lifestyle and Chassidic practices.


Key duties of the position

  • Review and Advise Yiddish curriculum parameters
  • Assist in developing the required new Yiddish curriculum
  • Help to implement the Yiddish curriculum appropriately

Key selection criteria

  • Significant previous experience in designing religious programs in the Yiddish language including the writing or editing of materials such as study books, workbooks, and readers. 
  • Thorough understanding of contemporary religious instruction methods.
  • Chassidic Orthodox lifestyle practices and strict adherence to the commandments of the religion.
  • Significant previous experience in designing religious programs in the Yiddish language including the writing or editing of materials such as study books, workbooks, and readers.

Qualifications required

A level of skill commensurate with a Certificate IV. This skill level may have been achieved through:

  • Completing a relevant qualification or
  • Combination of tertiary studies and relevant work experience of no less than 5 years.
  • Study in Jewish religious seminaries is highly valued
