Jewish Care's Residential Homes Receive Quality Tick of Approval

3 March 2022

Jewish Care is delighted to advise that Gary Smorgon House and Residential Home Carnegie both achieved outstanding results in their recent re-accreditation audits and both homes remain fully accredited until 2025.

The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission conducted the rigorous accreditation and audit process which measured our performance against the eight quality standards including consumer participation. All quality standards were successfully met with no unmet standards or recommendations for improvement.

“The excellent report cards demonstrate Jewish Care’s ongoing commitment to providing and delivering safe and high-quality care to our elders,” says Adjunct Professor Alan Lilly, Chief Executive Officer.

“I would like to thank and recognise our wonderful staff for their continued commitment to excellence in care and acknowledge the staff, elders and their families who assisted assessors during the accreditation process,” said Alan Lilly.

Consumer sentiment and feedback forms a major part of the re-accreditation audit – Standard one: Consumer Dignity and Choice surveys elders about their care. Elders interviewed were very satisfied that staff and management treated them with respect and dignity and they were able to make decisions about their care.

Jewish Care strives to provide the highest level of elder care and safety and will continue to monitor and evaluate for continuous improvement and safety.
