11 May 2022

It is with great sadness that we advise that multiple elders at Residential Home Carnegie have tested positive to COVID-19 and they are feeling generally well.

All elders and families of Residential Home Carnegie have been advised.

As a result and on the advice of the Public Health Unit (PHU), Residential Home Carnegie is now an outbreak site and is to remain in lockdown for 7 days. All elders have undergone Rapid Antigen Testing and the PHU has advised that Day 6 testing will occur 14 May 2022.

Whilst Residential Home Carnegie remains in lockdown, visitation and elder movement restrictions apply. There is a maximum of one visitor per elder per day with visitors to wear full Tier 3 PPE and visits to occur in elders’ rooms.

All elders from the impacted houses will be required to isolate and stay in their rooms and not leave the home during this period.

Our staff will be supporting the elders to exercise, undertake activities and remain in contact with family and loved ones during this time.

We continue to work closely with the South East Public Health Unit, Alfred MATS and the COVID-19 Response Division of the Department of Health in relation to the COVID-19 outbreak and are following their direction regarding the expected length of the outbreak and outbreak management requirements.

We will continue to work tirelessly to protect our elders and staff and request that you do not visit if you are feeling unwell.
