Jewish Care Victoria has made the difficult decision to close all programs and services provided by the Active Living Centre for the foreseeable future.
The Centre, located at 619 St Kilda Road, Melbourne will close its doors from Thursday, 19 March 2020.
The management of Jewish Care understand that the closure of the Active Living Centre will have an impact on clients and staff.
To ensure that Active Living Centre clients can continue to maintain their health and wellbeing, where possible, the following will commence:
- Allied Health Services will conduct home visits for occupational therapy and physiotherapy programs including assessments of new and existing clients
- Individual phone calls to clients will commence to keep them connected and in touch
- The Contact Centre will remain available for clients to phone in their issues and concerns
- “Virtual’ programs including, but not limited to, phone conferencing involving current affairs, newspaper and book readings and discussion groups are being investigated to see if they are able to be provided to our clients
Staff are working with us to ensure a smooth process and we are working with them to offer alternate roles, where possible, for the duration of the closure.
As the environment around us continues to change, Jewish Care is working hard to adapt and evolve the way in which we connect with our clients and continue to provide services, as safely and securely as possible.
