Jewish Care (Victoria) Inc. Annual General Meeting 2022

Jewish Care (Victoria) Inc. held its 2022 Annual General Meeting on 24 November 2022.

Jewish Care is delighted that Mr David Slade was elected to the Jewish Care Board and Ms Simone Szalmuk-Singer, Mr Reuben Zelwer and Ms Sharon Gdanski were re-elected to serve another term. 

Jewish Care thanked retiring Board member, Mike Debinski OAM, who joined the Board in 2009 and served as President from 2012-2019. Earlier this year, Mike was awarded an OAM in the Australia Day honours for his community service.

“We are very pleased that Mike will remain on the Board as a Co-opted Director and we will continue to benefit from his expertise and guidance,” said President and AGM Chair, Ms Lisa Kennett. 

In welcoming incoming Chief Executive, Adjunct Professor Alan Lilly, Ms Kennett said “Alan has brought a wealth of experience and expertise in health and aged care to Jewish Care. He has already made a positive impact and has implemented some great initiatives.”

Jewish Care reported on its operations and consolidated financial accounts for the financial year ended 30 June 2022. “The principal activities of the organisation during the financial year were to promote for the wellbeing of the Jewish people in need of care in the State of Victoria across the areas of residential aged care, home care, disability and social and family services” said Ms Lisa Kennett, President of Jewish Care.

In 2023, Jewish Care will be celebrating 175 years of caring. From the early meetings at the Rainbow Tavern in Swanston Street in Melbourne, Jewish Care continues to go from strength to strength.
