Jewish Care Victoria’s highest priority remains the health and safety of our Elders, clients, staff, volunteers, and visitors, and to continue to meet the care and service requirements to the best of our abilities under these difficult and testing circumstances.
So that we can continue to provide home care services to our clients whilst managing the potential risk of infection to clients and our staff, we have introduced additional procedures and protocols for Direct Care Workers visiting homes in the community.
Direct Care Workers will be greeting all home care clients as follows:
- Asking the client if they are well
- Asking the client if they have had any close contact with anyone with the COVID-19 virus, or has been in isolation due to the suspected virus
- Asking the client if they have travelled overseas in the last 14 days or,
- If the client has returned from any overseas country since 16 March, 2020.
Jewish Care continues to alert and update our stakeholders with the latest government advice (https://www.health.gov.au/news/health-alerts/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-health-alert) as well guiding our staff with the necessary processes, procedures and protocols to undertake their work in a safe and precautionary manner.
