Jewish Care Supports Ban of Nazi Symbols

14 February 2020

Earlier this week, the Victorian Liberal Party announced that a future Victorian Liberal-National Government would ban the public display of the swastika and other Nazi symbols.

Jewish Care supports this proposal.

“These heinous symbols are a representation of Nazi ideology and are intrinsically linked to the atrocities of the Holocaust. We are seeing a rise in anti-Semitism in the community and the public display of these symbols incites hatred and is an attempt to cause fear in our community," said CEO Bill Appleby.

“As an organisation that exists to support the Victorian Jewish community, including many Holocaust survivors, we welcome the Victorian Liberal Party’s proposed ban of public display Nazi symbols, including the swastika.”

You can show your support for the proposed ban by clicking the link below and signing the online petition.
