17 September (5.00pm)
Jewish Care Victoria continues to do everything possible under very challenging circumstances to manage the situation at our Residential Home in Windsor, where we had a significant number of diagnosed elders and staff.
There are now just 2 active staff cases.
Testing occurred yesterday, Wednesday 16 September 2020 for elders and staff. Results received to date have all been returned negative. One Elder and additional staff were tested throughout the day and we will continue testing staff tonight. We anticipate receiving those results tomorrow.
Strict lockdown protocols are to be maintained under the direction of DHHS Public Health Unit.
All elders are well and displaying no signs and symptoms of the virus and they continue to receive care from our staff with clinical oversight from our Clinical Care Coordinator, their GPs and Alfred Health in-reach services.
We will be celebrating Rosh Hashanah in a special albeit different way. Volunteers are assisting to pack individual Rosh Hashanah gift packs for our elders and clients of our disability services.
We continue to work with the Department of Health & Human Services, Alfred Health and the Commonwealth Department of Health to support the wellbeing of our elders and staff and are adhering to directives by the State and Federal authorities.
Families are being kept up to date regarding their loved one’s conditions. Families are reminded to use the dedicated call centre: 8517 5556 or [email protected]
