12 September 2020

Jewish Care Victoria continues to do everything possible under very challenging circumstances to manage the situation at our Residential Home in Windsor, where we had a significant number of diagnosed elders and staff.

There are now just 5 active staff cases.

Testing occurred yesterday, Friday 11 September, and results of all Elder and staff tests have been returned negative.

Testing will continue on a 72-hour cycle and strict lockdown protocols are to be maintained under the direction of DHHS Public Health Unit.

All elders are well and displaying no signs and symptoms of the virus and they continue to receive care from our staff with clinical oversight from our Clinical Care Coordinator, their GPs and Alfred Health in-reach services.

The Department of Human Services have published a weekly snapshot of data for COVID in Victorian Aged Care Homes. Numbers vary slightly from our reporting so we have written to the Department to have the numbers reconciled.

We continue to work with the Department of Health & Human Services, Alfred Health and the Commonwealth Department of Health to support the wellbeing of our elders and staff and are adhering to directives by the State and Federal authorities.

Families are being kept up to date regarding their loved one’s conditions. Families are reminded to use the dedicated call centre: 8517 5556 or [email protected]
