Residential Home Windsor

Jewish Care Victoria continues to do everything possible under very challenging circumstances to manage the situation at our Residential Home in Windsor, where we had a significant number of diagnosed elders and staff.

There are now just 5 active staff cases.

Testing of elders occurred today. While there are no active elder cases and infected staff are isolating at home, testing will continue on a 72-hour cycle and strict lockdown protocols are to be maintained under the direction of DHHS Public Health Unit.

All elders are well and displaying no signs and symptoms of the virus and they continue to receive care from our staff with clinical oversight from our Clinical Care Coordinator, their GPs and Alfred Health in-reach services.

As of tomorrow, the Federal Department of Health, through Victorian Aged Care Response Centre, will be publishing a weekly COVID-19 data snapshot for Victoria. This report will provide a high-level overview of the COVID-19 situation in Victorian aged care. It will include statistics for those facilities which have had more than one positive case. This will include a breakdown of resident and staff positive cases (including current active cases) as well as deaths. The cases we have reported to our community include:

  • 33 Elders (2 passed, 31 cleared)
  • 32 Staff (5 active cases)

We understand the numbers published by the Victorian Aged Care Response Centre may vary from the above because they may include linked cases where family/housemates have tested positive. We have not been advised of these cases.

We continue to work with the Department of Health & Human Services, Alfred Health and the Commonwealth Department of Health to support the wellbeing of our elders and staff and are adhering to directives by the State and Federal authorities.

Families are being kept up to date regarding their loved ones conditions. Families are reminded to use the dedicated call centre: 8517 5556 or [email protected]
