Due to the sudden lockdown of Victoria announced by the Premier today, Jewish Care advises the following changes to our services effective immediately:
- all visitation to our Residential Homes and Supported Accommodation is suspended;
- Active Living Centre social support groups and Allied Health support are suspended; and
- Group programs at our Disability Respite Centre are suspended.
In-Home Services (include Allied Health support) will continue to current clients with our staff continuing to adhere to strict PPE protocols.
Visitation to our homes for palliative care and pre-notified medical requirements will continue to be supported.
Elders and clients can continue to move freely around their homes and all internally coordinated activities and engagements will remain.
We will continue our efforts to ensure remote connections are also facilitated, as far as is practicable, for elders, clients and families.
We realise that this situation has occurred with very little advance notification from the Government and restrictions are very difficult for all involved. Please see the Premier’s announcement here:
This is Jewish Care’s immediate response to the Victorian Government’s decision. We will constantly review the situation as further health announcements are made in the coming days and update our protocols accordingly.
We urge each and every member of our community to get tested if experiencing any signs or symptoms of COVID-19. We also advise the community to monitor the DHHS case locations and outbreaks listings here:
