Directors Impressed by Carnegie Visit

27 August 2019

Jewish Care President Mike Debinski and CEO Bill Appleby, together with Jewish Care Board members visited the Carnegie Senior Living Community construction site during August.
The construction team have completed retention and foundation works on the basement walls, and commenced the slab works with preparations underway for the delivery and installation of the precast wall panels.

Bill Appleby, reflecting on the importance of the projects said, “It gives me so much joy to watch our vision of transformation coming to fruition.”

“This project, along with the Hannah & Daryl Cohen Building, and the Anne & Eric Smorgon Active Living Centre, will ensure that Jewish Care will be here to provide vital services to the Victorian Jewish community for generations to come.”

Located in Wahgoo Road in Carnegie, the double-storey Senior Living Community is set to house 120 Elders living in the south-east suburbs. The $39 million development will also include family friendly senior living, a contemporary shule, secure landscaped gardens, and bespoke aged care services to the Jewish community to live independent and flexible lifestyles.

Build time for the development has been anticipated to take over 12 months, with completion slated for the third quarter of 2020.
