25 May 2021, as of 4:30pm

As part of today’s announcement of additional COVIDsafe measures it was noted in the official statement that, “hospital and aged care visitor restrictions will also now apply state-wide.”

These restrictions come into effect at 6pm tonight:

  • No more than two people may visit an Elder at the same time
  • An Elder cannot have more than five visitors per day in total
  • Exemptions may apply in palliative circumstances
  • Visitors must wear a fitted surgical mask (provided by Jewish Care); hand sanitise; record arrival with QR/entry registration requirements and comply with all directions

In addition, relevant operating protocols in place include:

  • All visits to occur in Elders’ rooms or outdoors
  • Shul services will continue and family/guests are welcome however we ask that no more than 1 person attend during these services to ensure density restrictions can be maintained
  • Please note that attendance at Shul services will be counted as one visitor per day for that Elder
  • Elders are able to leave the home to participate in wider community and family activities subject to the broader rules in place, ie, masks, social distancing and density restrictions
  • Elders must complete the attestation document and have their temperature checked on return to their home
  • Salon, cafes and external entertainers operating in a COVIDsafe practice will continue

At this stage we will not reinstate the visitor booking system enabling the greatest flexibility we can however we ask that families continue to coordinate to ensure compliance.

Where families and friends do not coordinate or fail to abide by any of the visitation requirements in place we will be left with no alternative but to enact additional protocols.
