Come along on Tzeddy's first adventure and help find the hidden gold tzedakah coins!

Over the past four years, children and families in our community may have seen Jewish Care’s mascot, Tzeddy the Tzedakah Tin, appear at community events spreading awareness about the importance of tzedakah.

Tzeddy’s popularity has inspired the release of this new children’s storybook, ‘Tzeddy’s First Adventure’.

This 32-page soft cover book takes the reader on an adventure with Tzeddy, where along the way they learn about Tzeddy’s life, making friends and helping people in need. Even though the book is written for young children aged up to nine years old, it encourages the readers to think about using one’s strengths and how you can grow from accepting challenges and bringing sunshine to other people’s lives.

The plot sees Tzeddy, who lives in a wooden cabinet, one day go on an adventure with siblings Joseph and Rachel that changes his view on who he is and teaches him about helping others and revealing his own potential.

Another element of the book that keeps the reader engaged is the gold tzedakah coin that is hidden on every page. Parents who read the story to their toddlers can have fun looking for the hidden coin together.

Written by Sarah Bendetsky and vibrantly illustrated by Dennis Miller, this book promises to become a family favourite.

Based on Jewish Care’s organisational values of kindness, family, respect and charity, Tzeddy’s First Adventure will help parents reinforce these values to their children and the importance of helping others to lead a better life.
