Counselling
Someone to talk to
Jewish Care provides professional counselling on a wide range of issues, including parenting, relationships, trauma, past abuse, addiction and mental health. This service offers support for individuals, couples and families.
If you are dealing with a difficult situation, problem or concern, talking to a Jewish Care Counsellor or Case Manager can help you understand, gain clarity and insight.
How counselling can help you
Although everyone develops their own coping strategies to manage and resolve challenges, it is often helpful to access the support of a trained counsellor. Counselling can help you to find new ways of handling problems or issues. Counsellors can assist individuals or families with personal development, life crises, transitions, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, parenting difficulties and more.
Our counsellors understand the issues facing members of the Jewish community and will work together with you in a safe and relaxed environment. Counselling is personalised to meet your unique needs and delivered with compassion and confidentiality.
Talk to someone who understands
Jewish Care professionals have qualifications in counselling, psychology, social work and family therapy. They speak a range of community languages and are also able to address Jewish cultural considerations including migration, religious observances and the impact of Holocaust trauma.
Referral and other support
Jewish Care counsellors can assist with advocacy and referrals to other services. They also consult and partner with other professionals and agencies involved with Jewish clients.
