Home and Personal Care

Jewish Care’s in-home services are specifically designed for older people to help them live in their homes for as long as possible. Available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, these services can include house cleaning, shopping, personal care and transport to appointments. Respite care is also available to give carers a short break. Our carers speak many languages, so you are assured of understanding, support and a friendly face upon every visit.

In-home services include both fee-for-services and government-funded packages.

Active Service Model

Our Active Service Model is an improved way of providing appropriate quality care and support to clients. It aims to encourage active ageing and assist people to be more proactive in maintaining their own health and wellbeing. The role of Jewish Care employees is to support clients with tasks they cannot do themselves and to encourage them to continue to do the tasks they can.

About our staff

All staff who deliver BlueStar and Kesher services are qualified to provide you with the highest level of care and are familiar with Jewish culture and religious requirements. Many speak more than one language including Yiddish, Russian, Hebrew, German, Hungarian and Polish. Staff undergo comprehensive police, employment and personal reference checks and wear Jewish Care identification badges at all times.

Cost

BlueStar and Kesher is a commercial service and fees apply, however subsidies may apply to some seniors, people with a disability and Holocaust Survivors. It is our aim to ensure no one is disadvantaged by financial circumstances.
