Share a Simcha

Many people use the opportunity of a celebration, anniversary, milestone or other special occasions to request a donation to Jewish Care in lieu of gifts. You can do the same.

You will receive a special acknowledgement of your philanthropic support and everyone who makes a gift on the occasion of your simcha receives a special thank you and tax deductible receipt.

Simchas may include:

Bar/Bat Mitzvah giving

Teenagers celebrating their Bar and Bat Mitzvahs have emerged as a major charitable force - with many giving away their monetary gifts to those in need in our community.

Seeing the words "in lieu of gifts" on an invitation is a common sight these days and becoming more common for teenagers who see the benefits of "a little less bar, and a little more mitzvah".

The B’nei Mitzvah Program is designed to connect a new generation of young Jewish people to the concept of tzedakah and philanthropy. It allows young Jewish adults to develop an appreciation for communal responsibility and social justice within the context of Jewish Care’s values of kindness, family, respect and charity.

Special occasion giving

If you are hosting a wedding, birthday, family reunion or any other celebration, consider asking for donations to Jewish Care in lieu of receiving gifts. Simcha giving is a great way to spread awareness about Jewish Care and ultimately support our unfunded programs and services.

Collecting donations on behalf of Jewish Care is also made easier with our online donation page or personal fundraising page that you can create on www.mycause.com.au. From achieving a personal challenge to being sponsored for an event, the Jewish Care fundraising pages on mycause.com.au give you all the tools and resources you need to set goals, collect donations, e-mail your friends and family and track your progress.
