Supporting our community

Jewish Care is the largest provider of community services to the Victorian Jewish community. As a not-for-profit organisation, we rely heavily on the generosity of donors and volunteers to ensure our community’s needs are met.

There are a number of ways that you can support our work in the community. However you choose to get involved, you will know that your involvement has made a difference to the lives of the people who come to us for support.

Donations

Jewish Care needs your support to ensure that our community’s perpetual welfare is assured through delivering the highest level of care. While general donations to our organisation are warmly welcomed, you can also choose to donate in lieu of gifts or to a specific program.

You can make a donation to our Annual Appeal, which is the largest fundraising event of the year, when we raise money for all our vital community services, and in particular for our crisis community services, for which we receive no government funding.

All contributions over $2 are tax deductable.

Volunteering

Volunteers contribute enormously to Jewish Care’s mission. Their vast skills and experience builds our capacity to do good for more people in our community. Their daily expressions of charity are invaluable to our organisation and the people we assist. New volunteers are always needed to help deliver and support our vital work – your area of expertise could be of great value to Jewish Care and our clients.

Simcha Giving

Many people use the opportunity of a family celebration or milestone to request a donation to Jewish Care in lieu of gifts. This thoughtful approach to celebrating a happy occasion by asking for donations to Jewish Care in place of presents truly reflects our community’s shared values of Chessed (kindness) and Tzedekah (charity).

Bequests

Making a bequest to Jewish Care in your Will means your legacy will enable us to continue providing the best possible care for our community. The generosity and foresight of past generations of supporters have enabled Jewish Care to help those in need for more than 160 years. By contributing to Jewish Care today, you can become part of that same proud tradition.
