Digging in for Freeman Street
Liberal Senator for Victoria Kay Patterson was wearing her ‘hard hat’ early last month (November 7) when she took up a spade to officially turn the first mound of sod at Jewish Care’s new Caulfield site for aged care accommodation.
The senator spoke of her keen interest in quality care for older people, citing important initiatives introduced as former Minister for Health and Ageing.
The 120-bed facility at 4-8 Freeman Street will offer low-care, high-care and dementia-specific facilities and services. It is scheduled to be completed by early 2009.
Jewish Care CEO Bruce Salvin said the ceremony marked the commencement of the first stage of the organisation’s exciting plans to replace its outdated aged-care facilities with state-of-the-art accommodation, facilities and services.
“Jewish Care wants to be a national leader in the provision of high-quality, culturally-appropriate aged care,” he said.
