A great way to support residents of Montefiore Homes Community Residence and Smorgon Family Nursing Home is to sponsor a Shabbat kiddush.

Around 60 Monte residents regularly attend Saturday morning services run by Cultural and Spiritual Officer Rabbi Meir Kluwgant, while Smorgon residents participate in Kabbalat Shabbat services every Friday afternoon.

“Sponsorship of our kiddushim is a wonderful way to identify with our residents and their love of yiddishkeit,” Rabbi Kluwgant said.

The Shabbat services are an integral part of Jewish Care’s cultural and spiritual program which also marks all the Festivals with special celebrations as well as educational sessions for residents and staff.
