Stay active, independent and connected to the community
Jewish Care's Healthy Ageing Program provides flexible health and wellbeing options for seniors in the Victorian Jewish community.
The Healthy Ageing Program provides an extensive array of health and wellbeing services such as social and recreational senior activities and therapies in a range of languages.
Our professional counsellors can help you create a tailored plan to manage your health and wellbeing. If your health or situation changes, we can advise you of various support options and services available.
Active Living Centre
The Active Living Centre is a vibrant hub for our community. This welcoming meeting place is home to our popular Healthy Ageing Program. All activities and services are facilitated by skilled staff in this friendly and heimish (homely) environment.
The Active Living Centre Has Moved!
The Active Living Centre has moved from its Kooyong Road address as at 8th September 2015.
The Centre is now located at 619 St Kilda Road, Melbourne 3004.
At this stage, Jewish Care is unable to offer on site parking. However, there is a range of street parking available around the St Kilda Road site which include metered parking and time restricted free parking (2 and 4hrs).
Important note: Category 1 Disability Permits do not have to pay for ticketed parking within Port Phillip City Council.
Re-occurring taxi bookings can be arranged on a case by case basis.
Note: Taxis offer a Multi Purpose Taxi Program Card (half price taxi card). With this card eligible persons receive 50% off the standard fare (covering up to $60 per trip). If you require any further information regarding a Multi Purpose Taxi Program Card please speak to an Active Living Centre team member.
The Holocaust Survivor Support Program (HSSP) is very happy to provide home and personal care services to Claims Conference eligible clients. Amongst the many and varied services that can be provided, the HSSP can offer transport services. Carers can be organised to pick up clients at their home, will help them into the vehicle and take them wherever they need to go. Clients can then be picked up and taken home, or carers can remain with the clients at their appointments. The HSSP can organise regular transports as well. Fees may apply.
To organise a transport service, please call 8517 5638 to speak to one of our team members about organising transport.
