About Jewish Care

My Community. My Choice.

The strength of our community is in our diversity and in our togetherness – young and old, rich and poor, healthy and sick, religious and unaffiliated. Together we are one.

For over 160 years, Jewish Care has helped individuals and families in the Victorian Jewish community receive support in times of hardship or crisis.

Since the early days when visionaries in our community established the foundations of Jewish Care, our mission to support and enhance the wellbeing of the Jewish community of Victoria has not wavered. Our values of mishpacha, derech eretz, chessed and tzedakah – family, respect, kindness and charity – have not changed.

Over time, Jewish Care has grown with the community. We are a first point of contact for people experiencing unemployment, homelessness, emotional and financial difficulties, mental health issues and those living with a disability.

As ever, we remain dedicated to providing professional, dignified services and support for older people, both at home and in residential care.

It is not just the vulnerable we help. Jewish Care provides employment and training, counselling and innovative programs to impart life skills and encourage the potential of our youth.

Through the delivery of the highest quality of care, coupled with real choices and real options, we will transform Jewish Care from a provider of necessity to a provider of choice.

Our Team

We employ over 600 highly dedicated staff and are supported by 300 passionate volunteers and thousands of generous supporters, all of whom share a common desire: to enrich the lives of others.
